How It Works

Only the host needs an account

One person creates a free account and sets up the draft (room name, categories, number of picks, etc.). They then share the invite link with friends. Everyone else can join with just a display name, no sign-up required. If you do have an account and join via the link, the draft will also appear in your dashboard so you can get back to it anytime.

Categories and point values

Each Oscar category has a point value (e.g. Best Picture and other major categories are worth more; supporting and technical categories are typically worth less). When you draft a nominee, you see that nominee's point value. You only score those points if they win on Oscar night.

Categories are modifiable. When creating a draft, the host chooses which categories to include. You can run with all categories or a subset (e.g. just the big ones). The exact point value for each nominee is shown next to their name during the draft and on results.

Snake draft

Picks go in order (1, 2, 3, …), then reverse each round so the last picker in one round picks first in the next. Each player gets the same number of picks. Your score is based only on which of your picks win.

Live scoring on Oscar night

Winners are not known until the Academy announces them. Once the ceremony happens, we mark winners in the system and scoring updates live. Your total is the sum of the point values of every pick you made that won. Check the results page during or after the show to see the leaderboard update as each category is awarded.
